A new construction of a front and rear building is situated at the meeting point of two typical development types in Berlin; a Wilhelminian block and a 1970s row–buildings settlement. Due to the complex urban situation of the intersecting housing structures, the front building is designed in a semi-open, and the rear building in a closed manner. The access to the front building is extended outwards to gain usable living space. The sculptural appearance of the exterior staircase provides a closure to the Wilhelminian block.
